We got a first hand look at the new 2022 VW ID Buzz electric van at NYAS 2022. It's an updated take on the original “van life” bus - now in all electric!

It was originally introduced in 2001 as a concept, and in the last 20 years there’s been a lot of iterations.

Looking at the interior, it’s simple and doesn’t have a whole lot of buttons, with nice touches like a small screen for the instrument cluster and a larger touch screen in the middle.

We also really like the small touches like the phone holder with built-in wireless charging right next to the steering wheel, and the plastic fold out tray tables in the backseats. There’s also convenient storage areas placed around the bus.

In terms of electric power and range, it’s been rumored to get 270 miles of range with 201 horsepower and a top speed that’s program limited to 90mph.

This bus is the beginning of the Van, and we hope the US version will have even more customizations available like different interiors and configurations.
