This is the story of Hewitt Dunn, the greatest B-17 Flying Fortress gunner and crewmember in World War II. He was a member of the 390th bomb group and flew 104 total combat missions over Europe for the 8th Air Force. Here, we investigate his combat, missions, and mysterious death.
