Cayo Coco connects with mainland Cuba by a causeway stretching 27km long, which was constructed right on the ocean floor. We were on an excursion bus tour to Moron City and had the opportunity to cross this remarkable feat of Cuban engineering. The tour guide provided a brief history of the construction of the Cayo Coco Causeway as well as the history behind Playa Pilar (Pilar Beach) name in relation to Ernest Hemingway.
