Harriet Tubman - Peter's Neck - Maryland Department of Natural Resources

A video produced by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for the Maryland Park Service - designed to celebrate the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman, a beloved daughter of Maryland and American hero.

Narrated by Ranger Joanna Trojanowski, the video features information about Tubman's time at Peter's Neck, and how the knowledge she gained there empowered her escape and helped her become one of the Underground Railroad's most successful conductors.

The video makes use of map animations from Google Earth, footage from 'Harriet Tubman: Soldier of Freedom', a historic engraving from the Library of Congress, footage from Maryland Public Television's 'Maryland Underground: Ben's 10 Part 2', images of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center and footage of first-day-hikers on Blackwater Wildlife Refuge's 'Wildlife Drive' and a photo of Harriet Tubman's family.

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park and Visitor Center is located in Golden Hill, Maryland.

The park's website is: https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/...
