When concrete freezes then it can become damaged. This video explains how the mechanisms of freeze thaw damage within concrete. The video talks about the different pores within concrete, how they fill at different moisture contents, and how the water in those pores respond to freezing. Data is provided that shows the internal crack patterns inside of concrete before and after freezing and also how different bubble spacing impacts the freeze thaw performance.
