BoyWithUke surprised his fans by taking off his signature mask this month. After performing without the disguise for the first time on OPEN MIC, he sat down with GENIUS for his very first unmasked interview on VERIFIED. This time around, the rising star opened up about a track that was written around the time he decided to share his identity with the world.

"I originally started wearing the mask because I'm a very anxious person," the singer-songwriter tells GENIUS. "Three years later, I've reached a point where I don't need the training wheels anymore. I should be happy with who I am and I should be able to express myself." Speaking of "Migraine," he says it represents the end of that era. "It was me taking control of BoyWithUke," he explains. "I felt very good about the decision."

The thoughtful track is off his newest album, "Lucid Dreams," which also includes songs like "Trauma" and "Before I Die."
