This little game has no combat, or story. Its all about you exploring the twisted depths of your mind, and recording it in your dream diary. This is a game about being lonely, about being afraid, and about exploration. Its featured in Strange Gaming, after all!
Yume Nikki is a game released in 2004 using the RPG Maker engine. Its famous/infamous for its ambience, minimal storytelling, and exploration, but you probably knew that.

Yume Nikki is well-known, well-known enough to seem cliche to cover. However famous it is, you might be surprised how many people haven't played it, despite all the games that took so much inspiration from it.
Today, I seek to give you a retrospective on this interesting little piece of freeware as part of my Strange Gaming series, where I cover atmospheric and weird games. Subscribe for more strange games to be covered!

What I changed is that I shortened the Kyuu-Kyuu-kun section, and added a new music track, as well as explain how the old Louis CK Russia story made me feel the exact same type of loneliness that Yume Nikki did.

My name is Peter, and I cover strange and interesting video games every single week. Join me in my journey to talk you ear off about every single one!

Thanks for watching!
