Costly mistake from incorrect intake on this brand new 4 month house. We recently had snow in the northwest which is not something we see a lot. One of the local home builders used exhaust vents as intake to meet fire codes. This technique works in good weather situations. However, with this technique, as we saw with this week, the snow found its way into the vents and into the attic, causing a leak and water damage.
