The Cupra Leon is a new hot hatch from Volkswagen Group brand Cupra. The Leon VZe has 180kW/400Nm thanks to a combination of its 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine and an 85kW electric motor. It has a proper gearbox and front-wheel drive, plus a 10.4kWh battery offering 51km of real world, tested electric range. But it is also no slouch when it comes to acceleration and braking.

The Leon competes with the Volkswagen Golf, Mazda 3, Hyundai i30, Kia Cerato and many other small cars.
