Bio-chemical expert Dr. Vladimir Nekhorvich is in a plane, escorted by Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) to put a newly created deadly virus and its remedy to safety. However, we discover that the one we thought to be Ethan is actually another agent in disguise: Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott). Ambrose put his plan to action by killing Nekhorvich, stealing the cure and destroying the aircraft after escaping it.

The world's greatest spy returns in M:I-2. Top action director John Woo brings his own brand of excitement to the mission that finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) partnering up with the beautiful Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton), professional thief presently operating in Seville, Spain. With the help of Ethan’s old friend, computer hacking expert Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), they will have to stop renegade agent Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) from releasing a new kind of terror on an unsuspecting world. But before the mission is complete, they'll traverse the globe and have to choose between everything they love and everything they believe in.
