Electric 7 Series is the ultimate luxury car

The i7 is the latest in BMW's seemingly never-ending raft of new battery electric luxury vehicles, and when it arrives in the UK next year, this electric version of the 7 Series saloon will go head-to-head with the Mercedes EQS.

It seems to have the numbers to compete, too. Available in xDrive60 format, the car comes with 536bhp, four-wheel drive and a usable battery capacity of more than 101kWh, which delivers an official WLTP range of 388 miles.

Like any limousine, though, it's more about the luxury than the numbers, and it seems to have the chops to compete there, too. Those all-important rear seats have loads of space and infotainment touchscreens on the rear doors, not to mention an enormous 30-inch viewing screen the folds down from the ceiling.
