RV bedroom closets are typically built with a narrow, angled design that can make it difficult to utilize your storage space to its fullest. But with a little creativity and ingenuity, you can make the most of these awkward areas and maximize your RV’s storage. If you’re tired of wasting space inside your rig, check out these easy tips for upping the storage area in your closets.


1. Hanging shelves. These cloth shelves make it easy to maximize the space inside your closet. Simply velcro or secure the shelf to the hanging rod inside your closet, and in an instant, you’ll have multiple storage bays for use.

2. Stackable shelves. Plastic stacking shelves work similar to hanging shelves but instead of securing these to your closet rod, you can stack them top to bottom inside your space. Just be sure to measure your closet to purchase the right size for your rig.

3. Tiered bins. For the back of your closet, you can use various-sized bins or storage boxes to align with the angled design of the space. By stacking bins largest to smallest, you can optimize the often unused slanted space in the back portion of your closet.

4. Tension shelves. Like a tension rod you would use to hang curtains, these shelves can be adjusted to fit the various depths within your closet space. By mixing larger and smaller tension shelves, you can create shelving for folded clothes or storage bins.

5. Closet door storage. Use the inside of your closet door as an extra storage area. Add hooks on the inside to hang things like hats, belts, bags, etc.—or, hook a small storage basket to the inside to store other miscellaneous items.

6. Space-saving hangers. Use low-profile hangers that take up less room inside your closet or try a tiered hanger that allows you to hang multiple clothing items on a single hanger.
