Following the construction in 1885 of the Home Insurance Building in Chicago, which is generally regarded as being the first skyscraper… architectural and technological developments have progressed substantially, and now allow for taller and sturdier structures to be built than ever before. Offering the ability to create a huge amount of floor space compared to the actual footprint on the ground, there are now fourteen cities in the world that have at least a hundred structures that are taller than 492 feet, or 150 meters. Some of the most impressive of all have only been completed in the past few years… so it's time to take a tour around the globe to visit 15 new skyscrapers that look incredible.
