In this video I show off my latest design for a VAWT turbine, inspired by various internet contributors and research articles. The DragOn turbine is a modified Ugrinsky-style design, and if multiple of these are printed and stacked on-top of each other, they will form a double helix style VAWT.

The poor performance of the power generation shown in this video is nothing to do with the turbine itself, and more to do with the fact that I hadn't fully assembled my generator correctly, and I probably used too few turns per coil to generate any usable current. I will look into testing my turbine designs with better generators in the future, including ones that I design and make myself!

While the design looks cool and I think it would perform pretty well in a Wind-wall type setup, it is quite wasteful of filament and takes ages to print, so do bear these in mind. I have a more resource efficient design in mind already that I will begin developing soon.
