Kia nailed it with the 2022 EV6 electric vehicle. The GT-Line model is stylish inside and out, plus the rear-wheel drive version has an EPA estimated range of 309 miles. That calls for a road trip from Seattle, WA to Portland, OR to examine that claim. It’s a fairly tough test, EVs don’t like cold temperatures (it was in the mid 30s) and are less efficient at highway speeds (which was 95% of the travel). Tom Voelk checks it out and looks at high-speed 350kW charging station with its sister, the Hyundai Ioniq5. The cars are brilliant. It’s the infrastructure and people blocking the charging stations that are the issue. And, the elusive Mariko makes an appearance.
