We are proud to be a retailer of Sheldon Creek Dairy, and this new milk is one reason why this small, family run dairy is so awesome.

Recently Sheldon Creek Dairy introduced a robotic milking system that enables the cows to milk themselves whenever they feel like milking. Not only has this system dramatically reduced stress, but Sheldon Creek is also able to separate the milk from different cows.

So, they genetically tested their cows and separated the cows that produce A2 milk. There are 2 types of casein protein found in milk: A1 and A2. Consuming milk containing only A2 casein protein has been found easier to digest. Some have given up milk due to digestive problems or lactose intolerance, but those issues tend to disappear when people drink A2 milk. A1 and A2 proteins affect the body differently. When A1 protein is digested in the small intestine, it produces a peptide called beta-casomorphin-7 (BCM-7). The intestines absorb BCM-7, and it then passes into the blood. The structure of A2 protein is more comparable to human breast milk, as well as milk from goats, sheep, and buffalo.
