Would you believe that this isn't actually considered a waterfall by some people? The top piece is technically a dam, and in the summer, there isn't that much flowing over this. But after a good rainstorm, it's quite a sight.


I also love the way the spillway splits from the river, winds its way around the park, then rejoins at the base of the falls. I'm not sure if this was part of the original dam, or they added it as a fish ladder. I've never seen it so full before, but I love it!



Up this creek a number of miles is Butte Creek Falls, which I hope to shoot this summer, once I've become more proficient at my setup.


I'm still experimenting with the steadicam and binaural audio, and this was my first attempt on uneven, very wet terrain. It's hard to keep the camera steady when you're slipping yourself!
