Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Laurel Canyon Blvd and Hollywood Boulevard for a reported brush fire. First arriving companies found approximately an acre of moderate to heavy fuels burning uphill with no wind. Structures were threatened but due to proper brush clearance, they weren't affected. Water dropping helicopters, wagon batteries, and progressive hose lays helped to extinguish the fire, which had grown to five acres. Power was also knocked out in the area as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause is unknown. Beverly Hills Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department assisted as mutual aid.
