Charles Oakley is utilized by head coach Don Nelson as the small ball 5 against a stacked Bullets frontcourt, his main matchup being 7'7 Gheorghe Muresan. Oakley would stretch out their defense, putting on a clinic from mid-range, while operating as the enforcer on the other end. Oakley would amazingly strip Chris Webber from the floor, but would catch Webber's foot, causing C-Webb to come crashing down to the floor on his left shoulder, the same left shoulder he dislocated in training camp.
