Should you be using graphite or steel shafts in your irons? In my job as an equipment reviewer, I test lots of golf clubs with different shaft setups, so I decided to head to SGGT England at South Chesterfield Golf Club to get a custom fit with the right shaft set up in my irons for 2024.

We hit a massive range of shafts, including graphite and steel, different weights and different kick points to see which works for my game. If you want to learn more about getting the right shaft this is a video to watch.

As a +2 handicapper, I was seriously impressed with the fitting service, which included testing multiple shafts, regripping the clubs to use your own grips, loft and lie testing, and being able to be fit with a PW, 8-iron, 6-iron, and 4-iron to get the perfect bag gapping through your irons.
