Roswell, New Mexico : Alien & UFO Attractions and the 1947 Roswell Incident

New Mexico became world famous from the 1947 Roswell incident when an unidentified object crashed on a ranch NW of Roswell, New Mexico. A local rancher identified the strange objects and reached out to the local sheriff in Roswell for help. The sheriff notified Jesse Marches from the nearby Roswell Army Air Field Base and the material was taken from the scene by the government.

On July 8th, 1947, the Army Air Field released a statement saying they had recovered a crashed saucer from the ranch, but the very next day the story was retracted and the official statement was that it was a weather balloon.

The International UFO Museum and Research Center takes you through a deep dive of the 1947 Roswell incident with so many unique stories of locals with first hand experience, many of which were prominent members of the community. The museum also explores UFO and alien theories from ancient times to present days. Allow plenty of time to explore here, and DON"T miss the research center which has an invaluable collection of past information!

After the International UFO Museum and Research Center we visited the Roswell UFO Spacewalk, a walk through black light adventure. This one was really fun and the gift shop has a lot of great souvenirs.

We stopped in to Brockton and the Roswell spaceport. The spaceport has a virtual reality adventure and Bricktown is a lego museum with a full lego activity center. Just note that Bricktown is not just alien themed.

Alien Zone is the place to go for alien photos, it is a walk through museum of props and sets where you can take so many fun photos!

The Roswell welcome signs as well as the UFO Mcdonalds and Dunkin' Donuts are also must see spots.
