Door greetings can be tough.

Our dogs are naturally excited when people come through the door. People bring attention, new smells, and sometimes a few food crumbs in their beard.

We so often focus on what we DON'T want our dogs to do, when we should actually be teaching them what we DO want them to do!

Start by asking yourself, in a perfect world, what would your dog be doing when guests arrive? Would they be laying in their bed? Maybe sitting next to you, a short distance from the door? Perhaps just calmly greeting your guests without jumping up on them?

Once you have decided what you want your dog to be doing, we can create a training plan to work towards that goal!
