When I first saw this piece I had my doubts about it's ability to withstand turning. Lots of rot and rocks! Thankfully, it came through it just fine though not without significant effort on my part. Finished in shellac.
This is how I go about turning a root ball like this. I do not recommend anyone else use these methods. I will take care of my safety and I recommend you take care of yours.
