This movie "feels" weird. I know is from Terrence Malick and he's a terrific director, but what I feel causes that weird feeling is how he takes a Bonnie and Clyde scenario and strips it off of all of the glamour we think a situation like that would have. It doesn't glorify anything. Both of the characters feel empty, not in a "they're bad characters' way, but like both of them have really nothing going on for them. It's depressing but in the best way possible. It's haunting to think people like that really exist , so empty that they wouldn't mind going on a killing spree. It's even scarier that they don't seem to find joy even doing that (not that they should neither, lol). They're completely empty.
