Debuting in 1987 as a series of throw-away cartoon shorts, The Simpsons (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie) soon went on to become one of the most beloved and recognisable cartoon series of all time, spawning one of the most phenomenal pop culture fads of the 20th century. In 2023, with 35 seasons and a near-800 episodes under their couch, The Simpsons continues as a staple of American media, and to help celebrate I’ll explore the history, inception and development of the series and its surprisingly large evolution over nearly four decades, in this edition of Cartoon Evolution!
