An airliner full of Israeli civilians is hijacked by Palestinian militants and flown to the Ugandan Entebbe Airport. Israeli Special Forces mobilise, and launch an outrageous mission 2000 miles away to rescue the hostages from under the noses of a foreign power. But why did the Palestinian hijackers go to, of all places, Uganda, and why were they permitted to hold their hostages there?
