The 7 Mystery instructions:

You will need: A deck of playing cards and a bit of practice.

Step 1 – Choose a number and locate all 4 cards of that number in the deck and move them to the top of the deck. In this case we have used the number 7.

Step 2 – Dealing from the top of the pack, place the cards face down in on the table forming the number 7 (use 8 cards in total). The four 7s should form the bottom of the 7 and four random cards will form the top.

Step 3 – Without turning the cards over, remove the four 7s and slide them to the bottom of the remaining deck.

Step 4 – Invite the family/group member to choose one of the remaining cards and turn it over.

Step 5 – Depending on the cards value, deal the subsequent number of cards in front of that card. For example, if a 4 is turned over, deal 4 cards from the remaining deck in our hands.

THE TRICK: The first card you deal should be one of the 4 “magic 7s” from the bottom of the deck and the remining cards from the top.

Step 6: Repeat step 5 for all 3 remaining cards. There should be 4 piles of varying amounts of cards, each with a “magic 7” at the bottom in from of you on the table.

Step 7 – The grand finale of this a trick is to turn over the four piles. Invite the person to point to the first pile you made, etc and turn it over. As you turn over all four piles, the “magic 7s” will be revealed on top of each pile.
