Over 200 personnel from the Philippines and its treaty-ally the US take turns hitting targets off the coast of Laoag in Ilocos Norte on May 6 as part of Balikatan 2024. The drill is meant to demonstrate how the two forces would fend off an amphibious attack in the home province of the Philippine President.
