We were called out to a fully blocked office building. On investigation we could tell the City Sewer Main outside the building was most likely blocked so called it in.

Sometime when you pop a full manhole it spews out sewage everywhere & this is why the sucker truck is on station to contain or minimise the spillage.

Unfortunately the buildings ORG (Overflow Relief Gully) could not cope with the blockage effect on the ground floor of the building & certain parts of the building were flood damaged requiring carpets to be removed for destruction & replaced as well as an extensive clean up.

The cause of the blockage was around 1-2m into the 225mm (9") pipe on the outlet side of the 2.0m (6' foot) deep manhole. The line was riddled with fat, however the operator thinks there may be a fault in the line & will have the City's CCTV crew inspect the line.
