Went for a stroll along the beaches near Dunkirk & Gravelines which twice saw battle during WW2 when 360,000 men were evacuated in 1940 by the Royal Navy and hundreds of small private yachts, and again in 1944 when the Canadian 3rd Army fought along the northern coast of France en route to liberating Belgium and Holland.
