DIY HOW TO PULL YOUR OWN PARTS AT A SALVAGE YARD AND SAVE MONEY while keeping your vehicle on the road! How to remove/replace the BRAKE CALIPER on a 1997-2006 Chevy Truck or van. This process is similar for many other vehicles.

TOOLS NEEDED FOR THIS JOB:
T55 Torx Bit
11mm Socket
3/8 ratchet

QUICK PULL TIP: Use a small screw driver to clean out the dirt inside the head of the Torx Bolt. Tap the Torx Bit in with a hammer until it is seated to eliminate the risk of the bit slipping and stripping out.

STEPS FOR REMOVAL:
1. Use a small screw driver to clean out the dirt inside the head of the Torx Bolt. Tap the Torx Bit in with a hammer until it is seated to eliminate the risk of the bit slipping and stripping out.
2. Remove the top caliper torx bolt using the T55 torx bit.
3. Remove the bottom caliper torx bolt using the T55 torx bit.
4. Remove the brake line using the 11mm socket.

REPLACE: Follow the steps above in reverse.
