Time Team goes in search of a lost Anglo-Saxon monastery on the rain and wind-swept Headland at Hartlepool. They have just 3 days to find the exact location of a monastery that 1,200 years ago had a thriving community of monks and nuns, presided over by Saint Hilda. She was a Christian saint and the founding abbess of the monastery at Whitby, which was chosen as the venue for the Synod of Whitby in 664. An important figure in the Christianisation of Anglo-Saxon England, she was abbess at several monasteries and recognized for the wisdom that drew kings to her for advice.
