I love staghorn fern! They're sculptural, prehistoric looking and so easy to care for. We are in the process of redoing our south-facing bedroom and I wanted to include a big staghorn fern on one of the walls. I had the mount - a beautiful cutting board I found at Homegoods for $10 - I just needed a decent sized staghorn. My friend Amanda came through with one she had hanging out in her eclectic and funky plant shop, Aster Gardens in Lemont, IL. I highly recommend a visit to Amanda's place. She's a wealth of plant knowledge...and not just houseplants!

Here's the link to the fertilizer I use from Cute Farms. It's for Tillandsia but it works for all epiphytic plants:

Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5B, recently changed to 6a, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.
