Ukrainian officer Iryna, callsign "Dyka" (Wild), recounts her days as an assault soldier of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade in late 2023, then deployed near the Russian-occupied town of Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast. Russian forces have been on the offensive in the area since June 2023, constantly trying to find Ukraine's vulnerable defense lines for a potential breakthrough.
The wounded soldier died six hours later at the attack site, with no one being able to reach him due to heavy Russian shelling. Iryna is currently fighting on the Bakhmut front – another hot spot of Russia's war on Ukraine – in Donetsk Oblast as a reconnaissance soldier.
