This is a Motormouth couple car comparison of the updated 2022 Toyota RAV4 hybrid versus the 2023 all-new Kia Sportage Hybrid. Both of these new compact crossover hybrids have some of the best fuel economy. These two models are very popular and not so easy to get these days. Standard AWD in Canada, but FWD and AWD options are available in the US. Fuel economy is very good, but the RAV4 does better at 5.8L/100km, 41 MPG city and 6.3L/100km, 38 MPG highway. Both the RAV4 and Sportage have very different exterior designs, the Sportage more modern and futuristic with 8.3” of ground clearance, the RAV4 rugged with 8.1” of ground clearance.
The Toyota RAV4 offers a practical and versatile interior, the Sportage offers a much more modern design with the available 12.3” touchscreen and digital driver display, standard 8” touchscreen. The RAV4 has a standard 7” touchscreen, available 8” and 9” touchscreen but there are changes coming for 2023 which will make the RAV4 more competitive.
