From the year 1914 to 1930, Carl Jung embarked on a special spiritual journey.

He called it the "confrontation with the unconscious" and the result of this confrontation was the legendary Red Book.

The creation of the Red Book was a significant endeavor for Jung since it contains the nucleus of his later works. It was here that he found inspiration for the conception of his principal theories of the archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation.
