The History of Martha Davis and The Motels.
The Motels is a band that was founded in the early 1970s. After several line-ups, the band was signed to Capitol Records in 1979 and began to dominate the music scene both on radio and TV via MTV with such hits as "Total Control"," "Danger," "Whose Problem?" (1980), "Days Are OK" (1981), "Mission of Mercy," "Only the Lonely," "Take the L," "Forever Mine" (1982), "Art Fails," "Suddenly Last Summer," "Remember the Nights" (1983), "Footsteps," "Little Robbers," "In the Jungle" (1984), "Shame," "Shock" (1985), and "Icy Red" (1986).

Martha Davis had solo success with such hits as "Love and Affection" (duet with Sly Stone) (1986), "We've Never Danced," "Don't Tell Me the Time," "Tell It to the Moon" (1987), "Don't Ask Out Loud," "Just Like You," and "What Money Might Buy" (1988).

During the 1990s, Martha performed as a solo artist as well as with a new line-up of musicians being billed as "Martha Davis and the Motels."

By 2018, Martha, with a new line-up, released a new Motels album, the classic The Last Few Beautiful Days which features the hits "Lucky Stars" and Punchline."
