Season 2 Ep 24

As we navigate through bad weather we have some opportunities to put the sails up as we travel from Goose Bay to Campbell River with stops at Port Hardy, Kelsey Bay, and Campbell River BC. After reviewing the video I'm laughing at myself. I share we're at Port Hardy so many times probably because at that point I'm so glad we're through Queen Charlotte Sound and sooo happy to be in inside waters.... Queen Charlotte was the calmest we had ever seen with glassy water, but the swells were big and it was tough not to feel a bit green. We were also in-between 2 storms so grateful it was calm and we made it to Port Hardy before the next storm. Kelsey Bay was a neat stop. Very tiny and I was amazed we made it into the dock as there wasn't much room inside the little marina to turn around. It was pretty shallow, but thankfully at the lowest tide we still ended up with 5' under the boat. We enjoyed nice weather and seeing whales and dolphins on our way to Seymour Narrows. The dolphins were amazing and the water clear. They were with us for quite a while. It was so fun to watch then they turned back right as we were entering the Narrows. They were a little nerve wracking as we got there a little earlier than planned, but made it through great and ended our trip in Campbell River spending the evening with longtime friends. It was so nice to have some time together and it was hard to see them leave. Then it was prepping for the next day. Scott finished baking fresh bread and Apple turnovers so we would have something for the morning trip. The crew was very happy that we had made it through this bit of the trip and that we finally had a bit of nice weather to enjoy. So thankful to have Bill and Scott with us on our adventure. We appreciate all their help crewing during this stormy season.
