At the age of 10, Able Kusaloka received his first pair of shoes and toys, an experience that, as a young child living in Zambia, Africa, cultivated in him a spirit of sharing and giving back. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on his community later in life, Able chose Pepperdine for its mission of purpose, service, and leadership and president Jim Gash’s dedication to bringing access to justice to developing countries, most notably in Africa.

Able applied for every available scholarship and received the critical support he needed to pursue his education. Pepperdine Gives played a vital role in Able's life, granting him more than $40,000 in scholarships to make his world-class education affordable.
