This paint finish can be applied to new wood and in only hours your project will have the same beautiful old distressed look.

I demonstrate how to apply this finish.

STEPS

1. Remove the old and damaged original finish.
(Or just start with fresh new wood)

2. Seal the surface with shellac to stop the paint bleeding into the wood grain.

3. Spray on a couple coats of spray paint. I used a color that matches the sign.

4. Before it completely dries rub it off with steel wool and Mineral Turpentine
(Leave enough of the paint to achieve the desired look you are after.)

5. Top coat it with a clear coat. I used a water based gloss polyurethane lacquer.
(I applied 4 thin coats that dried in minutes. )

The job was enjoyable and i completed it very quickly.
