THE HANDMADE BALES: When men in their tractors towing harvesters made silage on my paddock recently I wandered around the giant green bails and marvelled at the efficiency of the process. But I also noticed entire seams of cut grass still left on the ground. I thought, you know what, I could run around and gather up the leftover hay, and make my own bales!’. So that’s what I did.
