Australia's navy currently runs 6 Collins class submarines. They were built in Australia by ASC Limited, formerly the Australian Submarine Corporation, back in the 1990s and early 2000s.

These were some of the most controversial and expensive machines ever built in Australia's history. And now it is time to replace them.

In this video we are going to look at Australia’s troubled experiences with boats that go underwater. A saga that continues to this day.

Notes:
10:30: I did not make it clear that AWD stands for Air Warfare Destroyer
12:55: I have heard that the French "Naval Group" should be pronounced "Nah-Vahl" (the French way) rather than the standard English language pronunciation "Nay-Vell"
