Kyle Busch has undergone a dramatic transformation in fan perception since he moved from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing before the 2023 season. He's no longer the most-booed during driver introductions (that's now reserved for his former JGR teammate Denny Hamlin), but instead is one of the most-cheered.
But don't mistake Busch's new persona as someone who doesn't have opinions. He does – and strong ones. The two-time Cup Series champion shared one this weekend at Atlanta with reporters when talking about the season-opening race at Daytona and described it as pathetic, disgraceful, and how the fans deserved better.
