Following his exit from the 1991 Ulster Rally with transmission issues, Colin McRae returned the following year with a point to prove. As fellow Subaru rivals Kenny McKinstry and Bertie Fisher hit difficulty, McRae pulled clear of the opposition with ease to win by a colossal 11 minute margin.
