In this Part 2 video, I cut down the remaining 6 trees of a 13-tree evergreen hedge using my new Echo CS 400 chainsaw (see Part 1 out-of-the-box video). When I had just 4 tree trunks left to cut, the chain was too dull, and the bar too warn to finish the job. So, I purchased an Echo 18” bar and chain kit for about $67 at Home Depot. Replacing the bar and chain was easily done following the instructions included in the kit, and since there are plenty of videos showing how to do this, I decided not to record this procedure. I hope that you find this video both informative and entertaining to watch.

Background: To make room for a workshop that I want to build in our backyard, I needed to remove an evergreen tree hedge that had been planted about 25 years ago by the previous owner of our home. I considered renting a chainsaw, but decided it was more economical to purchase one, especially since I have several other tree removal projects planned, such as the 6 trees I removed in this video. Based on the recommendation of Les Samples, the tree removal professional who cut down 13 large fir trees in our backyard, I bought an Echo CS 400 chainsaw at Home Depot for just $299. The 18” bar and 40.2 cc engine was perfect for felling and cutting up these trees including the stumps at or below grade.

Thank you for visiting my channel and watching this video!
