On Tuesday April 23rd, 2024, two of KiwiRail's refurbished EF electric locomotives led the northbound Train 234 between Palmerston North and Hamilton, with two diesel locomotives along for the ride as back-up. We followed the train from Bunnythorpe to Waiouru before going home to Tauranga.
