Zendaya’s name has basically become synonymous with style, grace and talent. But just like many other talented, stylish people she takes… inspiration from other equally talented and stylish celebrities. To be honest you could say there’s a little copying going on, but imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so really it’s like Zendaya is flattering the celebrities she has copied.
The “Euphoria” actress has paid homage to various style and fashion icons over the years, especially when she is copying, or taking inspiration from them. Like Beyonce’s 2003 BET Awards dress, that Zendaya wore the maxi version of it to the same event 18 years later. Or her love for Rihanna that had her designing a snake-print suit that resembled the snake-print head-to-toe outfit Rihanna wore to a Fenty Beauty event.
Zendaya also has a thing for colour, and can be inspired by colour schemes, like pink that’s reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic looks, or the Poison Ivy look she wore to the 2019 Emmys.
And we can’t forget her love for suits, and how some of the suit-looks she wears look heavily inspired by the other queen of suits, Madonna.
We can’t deny some of these outfits are straight up copies of each other, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Zendaya has made each look her own by adding her ‘Daya touch. What do you think?
