Would you be able to raise 19 children? Probably not, but neither could Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. The supersized family rose to fame for the number of children they have, and the way they organized their lives to accommodate them all. Growing up in that household had to be difficult for the kids. With that many kids there are bound to be ups and downs. It has come out that Jim Bob Duggar ran the house with an iron fist – it’s his way or the highway. After she and her husband, Derick Dillard, began making family decisions that did not exactly coincide with the 19 Kids and Counting patriarch's views, Jill was cited as claiming that her relationship with her father, Jim Bob Duggar, "became quite toxic." Jim Bob and Michelle are obsessed with keeping their family looking ideal on the outside. Josh Duggar, their eldest son, was recently sentenced to more than 12 years in prison. However, prior to his sentencing, Jim Bob attempted to protect his family's image by downplaying Josh's behavior. The Duggars have previously given multiple TV interviews in which they have downplayed the incident and attempted to make it appear as if it were not a big problem. And if you were a Duggar daughter, there are lots of rules that you have to follow from what you are allowed to wear to if you can take birth control or not. And as more interviews were granted, it became apparent that the Duggar kids basically raised each other.
