If you don't open your 4 number combination safe often, it's easy to forget how!

We're going to focus on opening a safe with a 4 digit combination, but if you want to see how to open a safe with a 3 number combination, just visit the link above.

Opening a 4-number combination safe is nearly identical to those with 3 numbers except they are exactly opposite in the the turning of the dial! 4 digit combinations start by turning the dial CW (to the right) instead of CCW.

After you have dialed in the combination, the safe will open and there's no need to turn the dial back to retract the bolt.
