The 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is the new performance flagship of the German sports car marque’s SUV line-up and yet more proof of Porsche’s ability to deliver genuinely compelling cars, whatever their size or shape.

Brilliantly composed, crazy quick (its 3.3sec 0-100km/h time makes it quicker than any SUV bar the unavailable Tesla Model X Plaid) and gobsmackingly expensive at more than $350K, the Turbo GT is only available in ‘Coupe’ form.

But is its uprated twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, reworked chassis and exclusive cosmetic additions enough to justify the first appearance of Porsche’s hallowed GT badge on an SUV?
